Star Wreath Dollar Tree DIY

All you need to create this adorable small star wreath is $2 and a few minutes! Keep reading for the easy step-by-step tutorial.

I don’t usually post DIYs on Thursday, but I was invited to a seasonal blog hop and I just can’t resist a seasonal DIY project!

If you’re here from Liberty’s blog, welcome! I’m so glad you’re joining me here today!

After my star wreath tutorial I will share links to the other great bloggers that participated in this fun DIY. Be sure to visit their blogs, too for some more fun summer inspiration.

Since we are heading into summer, the theme for this blog hop is summer! (I bet you didn’t see that one coming!)

To me, the beginning of summer is filled with red, white, and blue. We have Memorial Day, then Independence Day only a couple of months apart.

Yesterday I shared a fun and easy 4th of July grapevine wreath DIY and I still had some stars leftover from that project. I thought I would use another star from the wall hanging and create a smaller star wreath that could be hung on cabinets or windows.

This is another super easy and fun DIY that only requires a few extra minutes to make. Plus, it also only cost me $1 to make since I only needed the wreath. But, if you need to buy the wreath and the wall hanging, it’s still only $2!

Let’s get started, shall we?

How to Make a Star Wreath For Only $2

What you need:

  • Patriotic star wall hanging
  • Wood-blend wreath
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors

What you do:

Step 1

Remove all the stars from the patriotic star wall hanging. You’re just going to need the burlap piece for this step. Save the bow for later!

Lay the burlap flat and place the wreath on top of it. Bring both sides of the burlap up and around the wreath and hot glue them down. Cut off any excess.

Step 2

Flip the wreath over and glue one of the stars to the center of the burlap with hot glue. I also glued some of the edges of the star down so that it would lay flat against the wreath. Otherwise, it kept falling over and looking all crazy.

Step 3

Now you’re going to need the bow that you saved from step 1. Remove the burlap bow from the top of the burlap. The bow is glued on so I had to just cut it off around the glue.

Use hot glue to glue the bow to the star.

That’s it! In just 3 quick and easy steps your star wreath is complete! Now all you have to do is find a place to hang it.
