Learn how to make a beautiful light-up reindeer Christmas vase using supplies from Dollar Tree!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Ours was nice. I helped my mom cook dinner for the first time ever, which was a lot of fun! And my sister and her family were able to come this year. It was nice being able to spend some time with her.
Friday my daughter and I started decorating our home for Christmas. We worked on it all weekend and got all of our inside decorations up. Now we just have to wait for the winds to die down so we can put up some outside decorations.
Speaking of decorations, I’ve been working on some more Christmas DIYs! Today’s DIY is a beautiful (and super easy!) light-up reindeer vase.
Everything for this light-up reindeer vase came from Dollar Tree, so it only cost me $3 to make. Gotta love Dollar Tree!

I LOVE these window clings! They remind me of Christmas decorations from my childhood. And no – I’m not ready to call them vintage yet!
First, add the tinsel to the glass vase. Just stuff it down in there and make a hole in the center for the lights.
The tinsel I used came from an Easter project I made a couple of years ago. I usually save and reuse just about everything.
Next, stick the lights down inside the center of the vase. Leave the battery pack hanging out. Don’t worry – you’ll be able to hide it.
After the tinsel and lights are inside the vase, turn the vase over so the top is now the bottom. Then add the window cling to the side.
I chose the reindeer window cling, but it didn’t want to stick to the glass. If you have this problem, too, then just add a little Mod Podge to the back of the window cling and stick it to the glass. Use your finger to push the cling down from the center toward the edges to get all the bubbles out.
I love the way the light-up reindeer vase looks alone, but at the last minute, I decided to add a candle to the top of it. The candle I used is a battery-operated LED candle that I had stashed away (also from Dollar Tree).
Using the same sheet of window clings, I decoupaged the “Merry Christmas” cling to the side of the candle. Then I just placed it right on top of the vase.
Now I can use the light-up reindeer vase with or without the candle!
And you can’t even see the battery pack for the lights. It’s hiding behind the vase!
