Toilet Paper Roll Pumpkin

Don’t toss those toilet paper rolls until you see how to make this toilet paper roll pumpkin!

It’s the first Wednesday of a new month and do you know what that means?

A new DIY monthly challenge with Terrie from Decorate & More With Tip!

If you’re coming over from Carol’s blog, welcome! I’m so happy you’re here!

For this month’s challenge we were to come up with an idea using pumpkins. I had a really hard time coming up with something because I had so many pumpkin crafts I wanted to make!

However, at the last minute, I finally decided on a quick and easy idea – a toilet paper roll pumpkin.

With the toilet paper crisis earlier this year, I’m sure you have some extra toilet paper rolls. Don’t toss them just yet! Keep reading to see how quick and easy this DIY is and you will have a house full of toilet paper roll pumpkins!

What you need:

  • Toilet paper roll
  • Fabric
  • Stick (3 cinnamon sticks tied together would work, too)
  • Poly-fil
  • Leaves
  • Jute twine
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

What you do:

Step 1

First, cut your fabric to the size you want. I cut mine into a 20″ x 20″ square and it worked perfect for this. If you want a thicker, bigger toilet paper roll pumpkin, cut your fabric bigger.

Next, turn the fabric wrong side up and place the toilet paper roll in the center.

Step 2

Place some Poly-fil around the toilet paper roll. Use more for a thick and bigger pumpkin if you wish.

Then, place the stick inside the hole of the toilet paper roll. My stick was a little too long so I ended up cutting a little off the end later.

Step 3

Next, pull up the fabric from one corner and stuff down inside the toilet paper roll around the stick. Keep pulling up fabric and stuffing into the hole all the way around the pumpkin.

Step 4

After the fabric is all tucked in, wrap some jute twine around the “pumpkin stem” a few times, then tie in the front. Leave the ends to hang down a little bit.

Use hot glue to glue some leaves to the jute string.

That’s it! I told you this was a super quick and easy project. It took longer for my glue gun to heat up than make the actual project!

Now let’s go see what kind of pumpkin idea Terrie came up with for us!
