Summer home decor doesn’t have to be expensive. Check out how I made this simple, yet beautiful seashell picture frame out of Dollar Tree supplies.
I am missing the beach right about now! The sound of the waves crashing against the shore, the gentle breeze blowing salt air through my hair.
However, this year I’ll have to stay home and just dream of being at the beach. Maybe I can fill up a kiddie pool in the backyard and throw some sand around it. Pull out my beach chair and point a fan at my face.
At least that way I don’t have to worry about sand fiddler crabs running over my feet while I’m relaxing!
Since I’m imagining being at the beach, I can decorate my house to look like a beach house. Which is why I decided to create this fun and easy seashell picture frame!

I already had all of these items on hand, so I didn’t have to rush out to Dollar Tree and buy anything.
The first thing I did was add jute twine around the picture frame to give it sort of a border. I just hot glued the jute all the way around the frame. There was a little groove around the frame which made it easier to glue the twine to.
Next, I cut a smaller piece of jute and hot glued it to the top of the frame, about halfway between the middle and the right side. I ended up cutting one of the pieces way shorter so it would look good when I added the shells.
After the glue was completely dry, I glued a seashell to the end of each piece of jute that I had just glued to the top of the seashell picture frame.
And that’s it! Simple and easy to make!
I loved how it turned out and how it looks like it belongs in a relaxing beach house.
