This cute driftwood candle DIY is so easy to make you’ll wonder why you haven’t made one sooner!
It has been so hot and humid here in Southwest Virginia the past few weeks. The weather people keep saying “it’s not going to be so humid tomorrow”, but I’m pretty sure they know they’re lying.
Every day for the past few weeks it has been in the 90s and some days it has felt like triple digits. So even if it’s “not so humid” it’s still pretty darn hot!
And that heat makes me want to be lazy and lay on the couch watching Hallmark Christmas movies. (Which, by the way, I have been doing almost every night! #noshame)
However, those Christmas movies haven’t kept me from making beach-themed decor for my home! Just like this quick and easy driftwood candle DIY, which is made using only 2 supplies from Dollar Tree!

Our local Dollar Tree had a bag of driftwood pieces last year. I haven’t been in there this summer since all the pandemic stuff started so I’m not sure if they still have them or not. They were in a small bag and almost as tall as the candle.
This is so simple you’ll wonder why you hadn’t made one sooner! I swear it took me about 15 minutes to make this driftwood candle.
Basically all you do for this driftwood candle DIY is line your driftwood pieces up around the candle and hot glue them on.
After all of the pieces are glued to the candle, wrap a piece of jute twine around the entire thing, and tie in a bow in the front.
I told you it was super simple!
And it looks so beachy!

I really love this idea! Personally, I'm a big fan of driftwood pieces. Around here, it's a 'big deal,' where people go out on their boats and bring back some amazing pieces of driftwood. Some of them are HUGE! The rustic appeal is a lot of fun.
I love how easy this DIY is to do, but it turns out adorable!
Have to tell you too - oh how I laughed when I read you saying, "I'm pretty sure they know they're lying," (about the humidity). ??? Your whole beginning to this post had me cracking up. LOVE your humor, my friend! ?
As always, you've made my day with one of your creations. It's perfect for any beachy-theme!
Thank you! I love driftwood, too. It's so pretty and I love how unique each piece is.
Haha! I'm so glad I could make you laugh! :D That makes my day!
You made this look so easy! I am going to have to try it.
Thank you so much! I hope you get to make one soon. :)
I love this!! I live at the beach and this would be darling on my covered porch. Off to collect some wood! Thanks!
Thank you so much! I hope you get to make one soon! :)
So simple, but so cute! I am not a DIYer, but I can do this.
Thank you!! This is so simple to make. :)
I love it! Very clean and creative
Thank you so much!!
Ohhhh I love those Hallmark movies, you make this seem so easy to make and it looks so pretty. xo
Thank you so much!!
I love simple crafts plus I have beach decor all year - thank you!
Having beach decor all year is a good idea! :)
So cute and budget friendly! :-)
Thank you so much! :)
This is so cute and easy! (On a side note, I never got into the whole Christmas in July thing myself but I don't begrudge anyone finding their bit of joy in this crazy world!)
Thank you so much! I know what you mean. I watch the Christmas movies just to break up the craziness of the world, but I'm not going to start decorating or anything. :D
I totally understand. I find I have to watch the most benign stuff on TV or on the computer now cause I can't handle anything too dramatic - the world is dramatic enough!
Nice DIY ❤
Thank you so much!
