Last week was a lot better as far as anxiety and panic goes for me. So before I get into this grapevine wreath DIY I want to thank you all for your kind words and understanding. That meant a lot to me!

Now let’s get on to today’s DIY!

It’s the beginning of a new month, which means a team challenge DIY hosted by Terrie from decorateandmorewithtip.com. I’ll be sharing more grapevine wreath inspirations from the other great DIY bloggers after my post, so keep reading!

If you’re visiting from Carol’s blog at Blue Sky at Home, welcome!

For this month’s challenge, we are to use a grapevine wreath and decorate it any way we choose. I love the look of grapevine wreaths, but some of them can be super expensive. My wreath cost around $6!

I used a wreath I already had on hand and some items from

here!

Grapevine Wreath DIY

What you need

What you do

Step 1

The first thing I did was slide the yard stake down into the wreath to see where I needed to cut it. I marked the spot and cut it off with wire cutters. This was a little challenging because my wire cutters are about 300 years old, but I finally got it.

Step 2

After cutting the stake, I slid it back down into the wreath so I could see where to put the greenery. I just stuck one piece on each side, then added the lavender in front of it.

There’s space in between because I wanted to leave enough room for the tiny flower pot.

Step 3

Next, I started working on the little flower pot. I cut a small piece of floral foam from a bigger block and placed it into the bottom of the pot. This can be glued down if you want a more permanent fix, however, I didn’t glue mine.

Then I cut 3 stems from a bunch of lavender and placed them into the floral foam. Finally, I added a little bow made from jute twine.

Step 4

Next, I glued the mini flower pot to the grapevine wreath with hot glue. I placed it in the space that I left when I added the greenery and lavender.

Step 5

The last thing I did was attach a burlap ribbon to the top of the wreath for hanging.

I’m happy with how my grapevine wreath turned out. The hardest part is figuring out where to hang it!

Love this? Please pin it for later!

  • Very pretty, I like it! Thanks so much for linking up with me at my #UnlimitedMonthlyLinkParty 11, open April 1 to 26. All entries shared on social media if share buttons installed. I’d like to invite you to check out my other current link parties too!

  • Absolutely love the stems of lavender in this wreath! It screams spring and adds a bit of rustic charm to the end product!

  • I love your clever and frugal ideas. I'm so lucky to several Dollar Trees near me and also, drum roll, a really outstanding Good Will store. It's fun to combine the two places and come up with really unique items. You are so talented!

    • Thank you! You are lucky to have all those stores close by! We only have one Dollar Tree nearby and our Goodwill isn't exactly the best.

  • Very pretty DIY project. My mom used to make wreaths similar to this one. I live in an apartment so I don’t hang anything outside my door. I can see a lot of potential for a wreath in my future house. ?

    • Thank you so much! I can understand not wanting to hang anything outside your door. I haven't been able to do that here lately with all the things coming in and out of the house during the renovation. But I think a wreath looks good inside on a wall or window, too! :)

  • Michelle I love this wreath, and it looks so pretty on your window. I love wreaths, you're inspiring me to make one, but since I can't go shopping now, maybe for Christmas. Really love this one. <3

    • Thank you so much! I'm glad you're inspired to make a wreath, too! I hope all this will be over soon so we can get back to normal. I miss shopping! :)
