Don’t let your bedroom become a storage room. Learn how to clean your bedroom in just 15 minutes with these quick tips.
Your bedroom is supposed to be a sanctuary, a place where we can relax and let the chaos of the day wear away.
Your bedroom cannot be a very relaxing place if it’s filled with items from other rooms in the house.
We are all pretty busy, therefore we may not have a lot of time to commit to cleaning our bedrooms. After all, we’re the only one who sees them, right?
But don’t we all deserve some relaxation and peace at the end of the day?
And how can we have that relaxation and peace in a cluttered space?
Don’t let your bedroom become a storage room. In this post, you’ll learn how to keep your bedroom a relaxing space and a room you want to return to. Just follow these easy tips on how to clean your bedroom in just 15 minutes.
First, gather your supplies. Gathering the supplies first thing will keep you from getting distracted while you clean your bedroom. Here’s what you need:
Right now all you need to be concerned with is gathering all the dirty clothes around the room and placing them in the hamper. Don’t worry about sorting them right now; that can be done at laundry time.
Pick up any clean clothing that may be lying around the room on chairs or dressers. Fold them and put them away or hang them up in your closet. If there’s a significant amount of clothing, just fold them and place them on your bed after you make it. Remind yourself to put them away before bedtime.
Focus on obvious trash here. This isn’t the time to sort through old magazines or closets and drawers. Save those items for when you have more time to do a major decluttering.

I know sometimes we think that there’s no point in making the bed because we’re just going to get back in it in just a few hours anyway. Making the bed leaves a room looking less cluttered and more inviting. It helps keep things clean and instantly polishes a room. Doesn’t it feel great to cross something off your to-do list as soon as you wake up?

Pick up all the items that belong in other rooms and put them in your box or basket. Don’t worry about sorting through them right now and taking them to their proper places. If you’re like me you’ll get distracted and start cleaning the other rooms. Stay focused on the bedroom for now.
I love this basket for carrying clutter items! It makes it so much easier to carry items from the room. And it’s super cute, too!
You may have items sitting around your room that belong in the bedroom but are out of place. Go ahead and straighten them now. If there are a lot of items scattered all over the room, place them in a basket and plan to put them in their proper place later. While you’re moving things around, dust off the surfaces.
This is not the time to be moving furniture to sweep and/or vacuum. Give the room a quick sweep to remove surface dirt quickly. Vacuum the carpet or area rugs if you have any.
Don’t forget about the items you placed in your basket. If you have a few extra minutes put those items away now so that they do not become a huge pile of clutter. Take a minute to put the extra clothes away, too if you had any that you placed on your bed.
After putting away your cleaning supplies take time to reflect on how clean your bedroom is and the feeling of accomplishment you have at the moment.
If you take the time to clean your bedroom like this often, you’ll be able to see the floor and find your bed. Your bedroom will become and stay your sanctuary.
Now you know how to clean your bedroom in just 15 minutes! Cleaning your bedroom right away will make it easier to keep clean and decluttered.

This is such a practical spring cleaning tip. I always sleep much better when my bedroom is tidy!
Thank you! I do, too. When it's cluttered I feel overwhelmed and can't relax.
Great advise, it really makes you feel so much better when throughout the day you walk into your bedroom and it's clean and the bed is made. For a long time I didn't make my bed LOL figuring I'm only getting back into it, but now I make the bed as soon as I get up and I love it, it also helps me to keep the rest of my room clean. Thank you great post.
Thank you! My granny made her bed as soon as she got up and I loved how clean and tidy her room always looked. Now if I don't make my bed I feel like my whole room is a mess! ?
Making a bed is so crucial to a tidy bedroom. If I'm not leaving the house right away (and obviously most days now, I'm not!), I usually don't make it until at least an hour after I've gotten up. I think there's something to be said about letting your bed "air out" after a night of close contact with the sheets. Especially in the summer!
Letting your bed air out is a good idea. I never really thought about that, but it makes total sense!
Try it, I have no idea if it truly makes a difference, but in my head it totally does!
Excellent tips. I actually find our bedroom to be the easiest room in the house to keep clean. There's not a ton in it to begin with, so a quick clean is easy to achieve. These tips also work for other rooms and I feel like if we stick to regular quick and easy routines like this then cleaning as a whole will be so much easier and enjoyable.
Thank you! I agree with sticking to a regular routine. It makes it so much easier to keep everything clean and it's less stressful.
I was just starting to declutter my house when the virus hit and grandkids came to live with us. Guess I will have to wait because now I am decluttering toys! ????
Haha!! It's never ending cleaning with kids around! Enjoy your time with them! ?
Great tips! Thanks so much for linking up with me at my #UnlimitedMonthlyLinkParty 11, open April 1 to 26. All entries shared on social media if share buttons installed. I’d like to invite you to check out my other current link parties too!
Thank you so much!
A good share/tips. ??
And an easy hack for those who are on the opposite end of "a place for a thing" and "keeping it tidy". ?
Thank you so much! :)
You are welcome. ?
I need to follow this for cleaning my bedroom in 15 minutes. It always takes me longer. I need to get it done and be done.
I usually get distracted if I go into another room. I'll start cleaning in there! So I have to try to stay focused on just one room at a time. I hope these tips help!
These are awesome tips, Michelle! I kind of chuckled when you mentioned gather things up but don't try to put them away. You saying that you're guilty of getting distracted, starting the cleaning on yet another room while putting something away -- I completely relate! On high energy days, I've nearly cleaned a whole house in a few hours because I kept switching back and forth without meaning to! ? Most days though, I'm hardly that lucky to get even 1 room done. Brilliant suggestion about the basket!
The basket you linked to is really nice. I'd love to have one of those! I tried to click on the link but for some reason, it didn't load anything. It looks to me like it'd be great in the garden/plant nursery too!
As always, you've knocked it out of the park my friend. Love these suggestions! I'll be using quite a few of these tips in the next few days. Lots of love & hugs headed your way! ?
Thank you! I've done the same thing with cleaning the whole house on accident. That's too funny!! I love those days because my house actually gets clean then. These days I'm letting it get further and further behind. I'm thankful for social distancing because at least nobody will be popping over unannounced while my house is a mess! ??
That basket would be great for the garden, too! I think I fixed the link. I'm not sure why it wasn't loading.
I hope you're doing well and getting everything planted! Hugs and Love!!
i loved every bit of your posts..
Great pieces!! very helpful
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! I'm glad you found this helpful.
you welcome
