Don’t let your bedroom become a storage room. Learn how to clean your bedroom in just 15 minutes with these quick tips.
Your bedroom is supposed to be a sanctuary, a place where we can relax and let the chaos of the day wear away.
Your bedroom cannot be a very relaxing place if it’s filled with items from other rooms in the house.
We are all pretty busy, therefore we may not have a lot of time to commit to cleaning our bedrooms. After all, we’re the only one who sees them, right?
But don’t we all deserve some relaxation and peace at the end of the day?
And how can we have that relaxation and peace in a cluttered space?
Don’t let your bedroom become a storage room. In this post, you’ll learn how to keep your bedroom a relaxing space and a room you want to return to. Just follow these easy tips on how to clean your bedroom in just 15 minutes.
First, gather your supplies. Gathering the supplies first thing will keep you from getting distracted while you clean your bedroom. Here’s what you need:
Right now all you need to be concerned with is gathering all the dirty clothes around the room and placing them in the hamper. Don’t worry about sorting them right now; that can be done at laundry time.
Pick up any clean clothing that may be lying around the room on chairs or dressers. Fold them and put them away or hang them up in your closet. If there’s a significant amount of clothing, just fold them and place them on your bed after you make it. Remind yourself to put them away before bedtime.
Focus on obvious trash here. This isn’t the time to sort through old magazines or closets and drawers. Save those items for when you have more time to do a major decluttering.

I know sometimes we think that there’s no point in making the bed because we’re just going to get back in it in just a few hours anyway. Making the bed leaves a room looking less cluttered and more inviting. It helps keep things clean and instantly polishes a room. Doesn’t it feel great to cross something off your to-do list as soon as you wake up?

Pick up all the items that belong in other rooms and put them in your box or basket. Don’t worry about sorting through them right now and taking them to their proper places. If you’re like me you’ll get distracted and start cleaning the other rooms. Stay focused on the bedroom for now.
I love this basket for carrying clutter items! It makes it so much easier to carry items from the room. And it’s super cute, too!
You may have items sitting around your room that belong in the bedroom but are out of place. Go ahead and straighten them now. If there are a lot of items scattered all over the room, place them in a basket and plan to put them in their proper place later. While you’re moving things around, dust off the surfaces.
This is not the time to be moving furniture to sweep and/or vacuum. Give the room a quick sweep to remove surface dirt quickly. Vacuum the carpet or area rugs if you have any.
Don’t forget about the items you placed in your basket. If you have a few extra minutes put those items away now so that they do not become a huge pile of clutter. Take a minute to put the extra clothes away, too if you had any that you placed on your bed.
After putting away your cleaning supplies take time to reflect on how clean your bedroom is and the feeling of accomplishment you have at the moment.
If you take the time to clean your bedroom like this often, you’ll be able to see the floor and find your bed. Your bedroom will become and stay your sanctuary.
Now you know how to clean your bedroom in just 15 minutes! Cleaning your bedroom right away will make it easier to keep clean and decluttered.

This is inspirational to me because yes...I have been thinking that I need to focus more on our bedroom. It does have a tendency to become a storage space! I have donation items in there in boxes right now...all the second hand stores are closed so the items need to stay in my room for the time being. But at least having them put away neatly in boxes and the other surfaces cleaned, helps a lot!
I'm so glad you found it helpful. I have the same problem with donation items. I recently went through my daughter's room and got a bunch of old stuff out. Then I had to find somewhere else to put them since everything is closed! :D
Yes exactly...that is one of the problems right now! ?
Michelle, Love the tips on how to clean the bedroom. We all love to get our home cleaned quickly. Great tips my friend.
Thank you so much! The quicker I can clean the better. :D
Have you seen the lovely bedrooms on Pinterest where people dress their beds with a billion cushions, books and a tea tray. Looks good, but how would you get into bed haha?
Haha! Right? I love the way they look, but where would I put all those pillows so I could sleep? :D
Did mine yesterday. Slowly catching up.
That's good! I'm sure it's not as easy with your wrist being sore.
I love baskets in general. And you’re right, the one you have in the post is super cute. I might be seeing that in my future! Saving this post. Thanks!
Me, too! I had to make myself stop buying baskets every time I went to a thrift store. LOL! Thank you!! :)
I know what you mean! I try to think of something I can use it before buying. That helps, but it is still painful when I have to walk away! ?
Great post
Thank you so much!
Your welcome x seraja
This is a great tutorial, thanks for sharing!

So many fabulous tips, Michelle, thank you! I love how you have a basket for clutter. I'm always amazed at how things so easily wind up in the bedroom that are not supposed to be there at all. These are great! Hugs, CoCo
Thank you so much! I know what you mean. If someone comes over the first thing I do is hide random mess in the bedroom. Baskets are so helpful for keeping the clutter away.
Awesome tips! My nerves get a little frazzled living with clutter or things out of order. :)
Thank you! I am the same way. I get so overwhelmed with clutter around.
Great and practical tips. I will be using on Wednesday my next day off to create that sanctuary. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you found it helpful!
Always, everything so pristine. I love it.
