Winter can be gray and depressing. Instead of laying around wishing for warmer weather, get up and cross off your winter bucket list! Here’s a list of 40 winter-themed activities to get you off the couch and having fun this winter.
Winter can really bring some people down.
The shorter days send the sun behind the mountains quicker than we would like.
Freezing temperatures, snow, ice, and blustery winds are not exactly everyone’s idea of perfect weather.
Trees stand bare and the color has drained out of the fields.
Sounds depressing, doesn’t it?
Winter doesn’t have to be depressing and bring you down! I’ve put together a list of 40 winter themed activities to get you off the couch and having fun.

Thank you so much!!
This is an interesting list. I would love to go skiing⛷️ but I’m scared of breaking my bones?
Thank you!! Me, too, so I’ll stick with sledding or tubing. ?
???
I want to learn something new this year. I’m interested in watercolor painting but have zero talent for that. Thank you for the great list!
I like to watch videos on YouTube to help me learn something new. You should go for it!
YouTube is my best friend some days! Always enjoy learning something new.
I’m always living in summer but a pajama day sounds really gooooood ??
Well you should have a pajama day and binge watch your favorite show this weekend! 😀
I would love to but already the weekend is super busy..,I hope one day I’ll be able to go it though ?
Smiles. Not in a place experiencing winter but they all sound cool and fun!. Love the giving (donations and volunteering) part and game night out too. ?
Thank you! Giving back and game night could be done any time of the year, too. 😀
You are welcome. ❤
Yes absolutely. ?
☺?
Great list. Those snow ones though. Virginia isn’t great about consistency. LOL And then the bucket list becomes running to the grocery store for milk and bread… ??????
Right? Where did winter go and why is it supposed to be almost 70 this weekend? Oh the wonderful milk and bread store runs at the sight of the 1st snow flake! ???
Lots of great ideas!
Thank you so much!
I love you Michelle. You really are the best ? Thank you for including me on this great list. What a wonderful surprise to this day! In all sincerity, you don’t realize the positive impact you have on others. The last 6 months or so here have been brutal more often than not and your encouragement has kept me going quite a few times on tough days! Thank you for being who you are! ❤
You’ve included some of my most favorite activities here on this list. Love it! Pajama days are amazing, aren’t they? When hubby and I both leave the lounge wear on for the whole day – it just feels cozier and relaxing. I think we all need that refreshment from the chaos of life sometimes!
Volunteering, taking a nature walk (the absolute best, as we both agree!), game night – these are guaranteed to bring joy to the drab. You never cease to brighten the day.
Sending loads of love your way Michelle with hopes and prayers that you & your family are well this day. Happy New Year my friend. Praying 2020 eases the burdens of our hearts and brings answers to prayers! ? All My Best, Holly
Can’t find a “like” button here, so I’ll just say “Amen!” I’m sure you made Michelle’s day.
Aww. Bless your heart! That was so very kind of you. I hope it does make her day. We all need someone to come along and brighten our lives and days, don’t we? 🙂 I pray you are well too. I pray the same prayer for you and yours in 2020! ❤
Thank you, Holly! Blessings your way, too. <3 – Annie
Awww Holly, I’m sorry you’ve had some not so great times over the past few months. Please know that I’m here for you and you can email me any time! Thank you for such kind words. You’ve really touched my heart and made my day!
I agree with pajama day! Those days are the best! Just laying around and doing nothing, although that doesn’t happen often around here any more.
Wishing you a very wonderful 2020! Sending love and prayers your way! Love you back!! ❤️❤️
These are all awesome! I sure would love to learn how to ski! ?
Thank you! I would love to learn, too, but I’m scared of falling. 😀
Me too!
Great list to keep busy this winter, Michelle!! Hubby and I plan to learn a new language!! Kind of excited about it too!! Happy Friday!
Thank you so much! That’s exciting!! That’s also a great way to bond. 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!
Wonderful ideas!
Thank you so much!!
Fantastic suggestions, Michelle. I love the variety (and I love the revamp to your blog like with the new header, not sure if I said that before or not?! My brain is going to mush ?) I really would like to do a mini bucket list. Bowling would be on it as I thought of that a while ago but didn’t get to go, it’s a nice way to get my folks out of the house. And an indoor picnic? Hell yes!!
Caz xx
Thank you! Bowling is a lot of fun and something we haven’t done in a while, either. I always end up losing because I suck at it, but at least I’m doing it. 😀 Thank you for your feedback on my new header. I just created it a few days ago and still haven’t decided if I like it or not. haha
I am forfunate enough to live in Florida. 81 degrees today so walking with my girlfriend in a local park.
That’s awesome! I like the warmer weather more than the cold. 🙂
Great ideas!
I used to do “scavenger hunts” with my kids and their friends. First I would walk through the mall alone and make up a list of random things I saw in the store windows. Then I would give each team a copy of the list, and turn them loose. Next to each item they had to write down which store window it was in. First team to get them all correct won.
Thank you! The scavenger hunts sound like so much fun! I’m sure they have wonderful memories of doing that. 🙂
Love the ideas, building pictures in the snow with food dye sounds especially appealing.
Thank you so much! That’s a lot of fun. You can use old ketchup bottles or buy some from the dollar store. 🙂
You are so creative.
Thank you so much! 😀
So many wonderful things to do in the winter. Some of them we’re doing and some we’re not. Nothing to do with snow because it doesn’t snow here.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. ♥
Thank you so much! We haven’t had much snow here this winter. It’s been so warm! 🙂
What a great list! A murder mystery dinner party would be so fun!
Thank you so much!!
Your ideas are snowwwwww good!

Thank you so much!
Oh my gosh, I’d love to go to a murder mystery dinner party!
Right? They look so fun!
What a great list, I can cross off Have a pajama day because that’s exactly my day today 🙂
Oh and I meant to tell you the last time, your blog is looking beautiful 🙂
It’s great to stay in pajamas all day once in a while! 😀 Thank you so much!!
Winter???? It hit 70 degrees today in Ohio! However, I did one on your list and made soup even though it was warm…lol
It’s been unusually warm here, too! I want at least one good snow and then Spring can come. 😀 I bet your soup was delicious!
Winter is going to be quite fun when you do all those things! Have fun!
And second thought you could add… go visit ARIZONA where Nancy lives and see the spectacular desert!
I would love to visit the desert! As long as it’s not scorching hot because I can’t handle all that. lol!!
It’s beautiful October til May. Then it gets hot. Which is when we head to Pennsylvania!
We have 70’s today with bright blue skies! Arizona would love for you to visit! ☀️?
I love these ideas, Michelle! I’d enjoy hosting a game night at our house sometime soon 😀 <3 Thanks for this helpful list!
Game nights are so much fun! Thank you so much!! 🙂
Thank you for sharing these wonderful ideas! I’m going outside and enjoy the 60 degree weather in January. I’m loving it.
It’s been warm here, too. I really love it, too! I’d like one good snow a year and that’s it. 😀
I like the idea of drawing in the snow with food coloring! Too bad the past two days have been in the 60’s here. 😛
It’s a lot of fun whenever it finally snows. 😀 It’s been warm here, too! It’s crazy how warm this winter has been. But I think it’s supposed to get cold this weekend.
Wish we had snow here in the city. At least I got to play in a little up north. These are all wonderful ideas. I just finished up number 10 and have a huge pile of donations ready to drop off. Such a fun list, thanks for sharing.
Thank you! It feels good to go through old stuff and get rid of it so you have more room. 🙂

Yep, that is so true, nice to have different things to help make the winter a bit more enjoyable!??⛄
I love all your winter bucket tasks. I’ve already donated blankets, towels and rags to the Humane society and donated some Christmas decorations to Good Will. I really need to clean out my closet and get more organized.
Thank you so much! That’s great that you donated those items to the Humane Society. I’m sure they really appreciate them. My husband’s closet is the next thing on my list of things to organize. 🙂

Great activities, Michelle! I have hooked my daughters on downhill skiing. We are going skiing with my Dad this weekend. He’s 77 years-old, but skis regularly. I think it’s great that my children have this opportunity to do this with their Grandpa!
That’s awesome that your dad is still out there skiing! It’s great that you’re all able to get together to make such wonderful memories. I hope you all have fun!
Thanks, Michelle!
