After my post I will be sharing links to the other great DIY’s that participated in this challenge. So you will have lots of winter decor inspiration!
This month’s challenge is to share winter decor inspiration on warming up our homes for the winter season. I was going to share just one room, but I have winter decor in the living room, kitchen, and my bedroom. So why not share it all with you?
To see all of my DIY’s click here.
Winter Decor in the Living Room
I kept the winter decor in the living room simple. I only added a few things to the top of my TV stand. In a tobacco basket I added a few pine cones and sat a candle in the middle of them.
The WoodWick Fireside candle is one of my favorite scents. They use a natural wood wick in their candles, so it sounds like a crackling fire when it’s lit. The smell of this candle is just amazing, too! Since I don’t have a fireplace in my home, I just light this candle and it makes me feel like I’m sitting by a cozy fire with a warm blanket.
Behind the basket I placed my farmhouse jars that I made for Christmas. They also make great winter decor! Click here to see how I made the farmhouse jars.
I also kept my winter decor scene in a jar out to decorate with as well. I just love the little deer in the snow!
Almost everything in this winter scene came from Dollar Tree, so it was only $2 to put together. (The glass piece is actually reused from a Bath and Body Works candle.) I just put some fake snow in the bottom of the glass container, added the little deer figurine to the top.
You can see how I made the candle holder holding the winter scene here. (It’s another Dollar Tree DIY!)
Winter Decor in the Kitchen
Once again I kept things simple in the kitchen as well. On my table I just have a candle burning, no major centerpiece right now.
However, beside the table I did add a little more winter decor to give my kitchen a cozy feeling.
I kept the little tree I had out for Christmas that I decorated with the primitive ornaments I made. I placed a candle by the tree and that was it! The little wooden chair came from a thrift sale, the cow print I found at Dollar Tree, and the pig head was a Christmas gift years ago.
Winter Decor in the Bedroom
I don’t spend a lot of time in the bedroom, so I kept the winter decor simple in there as well. I think too much makes things look cluttered and when things are cluttered I feel overwhelmed.
The bedroom is supposed to be a calming and relaxing room and I wanted to keep it that way.
The only winter decor I added in my bedroom was to the top of my dresser.
Years ago I found this enamel dish while shopping with my mom at our favorite primitive store. Since I collect enamelware I knew I had to have this piece!
I placed 3 candle holders from Dollar Tree in the dish and added small pine cones around the candle holders. I thought this just gave the dish such a cozy winter feel.
Now let’s see what other great winter decor inspiration the other bloggers have for us today.
I love the deer in the snow.
Thank you! When the sun comes through the window in the mornings it makes the snow sparkle. 🙂

So exquisite, Michelle! I adore the sound of crackling from the fireplace; know I would love the candle.
Thank you! If you love the sound of a crackling fire, you would definitely love the candle. 🙂
Thank you, Michelle. I plan on purchasing the candle.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. 🙂

Beautiful decor ???
Thank you so much!! 😀
All your budget-friendly winter decor turned out wonderful! I love a good smelling candle to make things feel cozy. While I was on twitter today, you ended up leading me to a blogger who submits projects on craftgawker. I had never heard of that website. I joined up so hopefully it leads to some traffic to my website, so THANKS! 🙂
Thank you! Candles always make me think cozy, too. Good luck with craftgawker!! 🙂
Thanks for all these wonderful ideas ?♀️?
You’re welcome. Thank you for reading! 🙂
What a great idea to spark up your home in the winter. Awesome Michele!
Thank you so much!
I love anything with pine cones!
Me, too! 😀
Little touches in each room sure makes a difference. Your candle and the sound it makes sounds amazing. I also am a fan of pine cones this time of year.
Thank you! I love adding a little bit of nature during the seasons and my yard is full of pine cones! 😀
I really like how you added a little bit of winter decor in all the different rooms of your house. Using pinecones is such a good idea- love it!
Thank you so much! I love pine cones for winter. 🙂
It all looks nice!! Thanks so much for linking up at the #UnlimitedMonthlyLinkParty 8. Pinned.
Thank you so much!! You’re welcome! Thank you for hosting!! 🙂
I read this early this morning at the dentist office and then I was called and forgot until now, LOL but I’m glad I remembered wanted to let you know that all of your ideas here look so great, I especially like the bedroom winter decor, the plate with the candles and the pine cones, love it. And I like the way you repurpose some of the Christmas items. Thank you Michelle also for sharing the other DIY blogs.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you came back to visit. 🙂 The best part was that it didn’t cost me anything. I just reused pieces I already had and left a few things out from Christmas that weren’t Christmas themed.
Beautiful Decor. Your right it could be challengeable turning xmas decoration to the winter decors.
Thank you so much! I never really thought about winter decor much before this challenge. After Christmas I’m ready for Spring. 😀
Let’s fast forward to spring ?
Yes, please!! I am a firm believer that Spring should start on January 1. 😀
You have my vote!!
I love these ideas! I like using pinecones for wintery decor!
Thank you! I do, too. They just feel so much like winter to me.
Your winter decor is so pretty, and I like how you differentiate it from Christmas decor, so it is still wintery but not too Christmassy!
Thank you! I didn’t realize how much stuff I had that’s more winter that I put out for Christmas. So I just decided to leave those winter items out. 🙂
My favorite is the reindeer in the snow – cozy home!
Thank you so much! The reindeer seems to be the most popular one. 😀
I really love all of these ideas!
Thank you so much!!
Using pine cones is such a great idea, and they are free!!
Jenna
Yes they are!! When my daughter was little we’d give her $1 to pick up a bag full of pine cones from our yard. Now that she’s 12 I’m picking them up by myself. 😀
ha ha, that figures!!
Lovely ideas, Michelle. I’ll save them for our winter… it’s in the high eighties outside today 🙂
Thank you! I miss those temps! It’s in the low 40’s today, but we’re supposed to be almost 70 this weekend. I love those temps! 🙂
Love your decoration and tips Michelle, you keep it simple and cozy at the same time ???
Thank you so much!
It is so much fun to decorate for winter with so many possibilities. Love your ideas, thanks for sharing.
I agree! I don’t feel limited to decorations like I do when I’m decorating for a season. Thank you!!
Your home is beautiful! I love your budget friendly ideas. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!! ?
Wow Ms Michelle, beautiful decor! Your house looks very cosy and stylish! Great job 🙂
Thank you so much!
It is really beautiful. Loved more the deer in the vase. I had to screenshot it for my archive. ?
Thank you!! I hope you make one for your home, too. 🙂
You are welcome. Yes, I hope to. ?
❤
Too cute! I still need to take down Christmas ?, so I like that you have some Christmas decorations that can double as winter decor ❤️
Thank you! I didn’t want to take down Christmas, but I needed space back. ? It’s fun leaving a few things out for winter. ?
I agree with keeping it simple too!! I love all of your winter decor! It speaks to my heart!
Thank you so much!! Too much makes me feel overwhelmed, so I try to keep it simple. Plus I hate to dust everything. ?
Nice
Thank you!
I really love candles during the winter. Thanks for more ideas
Me, too. They’re so cozy! You’re welcome! 🙂
It looks so cozy at your house!
Thank you so much!
Wonderful ideas for winter love all the light!!! ?
Thank you so much!!
Love all the pine cones everywhere and I bet that candle smells so good. I need to do some Winter decorating this week, just a few little things would be nice. Your decor is really pretty. Love the little deer too. Have a great week.
Thank you so much! The candle smells amazing. I have to get one every year for Christmas. It’s hard decorating for winter when it feels like Spring. 😀 I think it’s supposed to feel more like winter by the weekend, though. Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful week!
Candles make a room so cozy to me. It never really feels like Winter here in Phoenix but this year I am going to try to do some Winter decor before Winter is over. Today I think I will work on that. Have a great Sunday Michelle.
At least you can have the winter vibe even if it doesn’t feel like it outside. ? I’ve been leaving comments on your blog but I don’t think any are going through. I guess we’re taking turns not being able to comment on each other’s blog. ?
So many great ideas here, Michelle!
Thank you so much!!
These decorations are all beautiful! Loving them all!
Thank you so much!

Haha would you believe me if I told you I stocked up on DT miniature things… but they were for my spring summer gnome “garden” such adorble things there for $1 and you just proved how non cheap the stuff can look
That’s so cute! I love the DT miniatures. I want to create a little fairy garden for Spring this year. 🙂
Mine is on a small.3ft shelf I thrifted and painted. It gets different miniatures for spring/summer fall/halloween and christmas/winter
I bet that’s so cute!!
These were cute and heart warming!!
Thank you so much!
