I cannot believe how fast Thanksgiving is coming up, can you?
When I was little we spent Thanksgiving with both sets of grandparents. Lunch was spent with my dad’s parents, then dinner with my mom’s parents. I loved going to both!
Now that all of my grandparents have passed away, we spend Thanksgiving at my uncle’s house (my dad’s brother). We gather around for a huge meal and stuff our faces, then the women grab their Black Friday sales papers and start making their lists. This is my favorite part of Thanksgiving now, after the food of course.
My aunt is in the first stages of Alzheimer’s, so she will not be doing much decorating or cooking this year. Us women will make most of the food to bring for dinner so she does not have to worry about it and we take the time to clean up afterwards.
Since my family has Thanksgiving away from home, I do not have to worry about decorating and preparing my home for a lot of people. Not that I could anyway, since my home is in pieces right now. However, I do still like my dining room table to look nice for Thanksgiving so I decided to make a Thanksgiving table centerpiece this year using only items from Dollar Tree.
I recommend these great DIY’s for fall:
No-Sew Fall Pillows
2-in-1 Pumpkin Decor
Pumpkin Patch Sign
Fall Candle Holder
Pumpkin Pie Fall Decor
Wrap the burlap around the bucket and hot glue it in place. I added a dot of hot glue in the front, on both sides, and in the back to get it to stay in place.
Hot glue jute string around the top and bottom of the burlap to make a border.
Hot glue the metal “thankful” sign to the burlap.
Decorate your Thanksgiving table centerpiece. I added a fall leaf strand, a candle holder, and a small pumpkin to mine, which all came from Dollar Tree.
That’s it! So simple and quick to make. And it didn’t cost me a thing to make since I already had everything on hand. However, if you do purchase the items, it only costs about $6.
The wreath in the photo was also made from Dollar Tree items. You can see how I made that here.

I'm so sorry about your Aunt. Alzheimer's is an incredibly cruel disease.
I love this centrepiece, it has such a homely, slightly rustic vibe to it. I wish we had Thanksgiving here in the UK!

Thank you so much! It's easy to change out, too if you use hot glue. Then you can change it with the seasons. :)
