I cannot believe how fast Thanksgiving is coming up, can you?
When I was little we spent Thanksgiving with both sets of grandparents. Lunch was spent with my dad’s parents, then dinner with my mom’s parents. I loved going to both!
Now that all of my grandparents have passed away, we spend Thanksgiving at my uncle’s house (my dad’s brother). We gather around for a huge meal and stuff our faces, then the women grab their Black Friday sales papers and start making their lists. This is my favorite part of Thanksgiving now, after the food of course.
My aunt is in the first stages of Alzheimer’s, so she will not be doing much decorating or cooking this year. Us women will make most of the food to bring for dinner so she does not have to worry about it and we take the time to clean up afterwards.
Since my family has Thanksgiving away from home, I do not have to worry about decorating and preparing my home for a lot of people. Not that I could anyway, since my home is in pieces right now. However, I do still like my dining room table to look nice for Thanksgiving so I decided to make a Thanksgiving table centerpiece this year using only items from Dollar Tree.
I recommend these great DIY’s for fall:
No-Sew Fall Pillows
2-in-1 Pumpkin Decor
Pumpkin Patch Sign
Fall Candle Holder
Pumpkin Pie Fall Decor
Wrap the burlap around the bucket and hot glue it in place. I added a dot of hot glue in the front, on both sides, and in the back to get it to stay in place.
Hot glue jute string around the top and bottom of the burlap to make a border.
Hot glue the metal “thankful” sign to the burlap.
Decorate your Thanksgiving table centerpiece. I added a fall leaf strand, a candle holder, and a small pumpkin to mine, which all came from Dollar Tree.
That’s it! So simple and quick to make. And it didn’t cost me a thing to make since I already had everything on hand. However, if you do purchase the items, it only costs about $6.
The wreath in the photo was also made from Dollar Tree items. You can see how I made that here.

My prayers for your aunt Michelle??
This is adorable and affordable! You are so talented ?. We don't have any Thanksgiving decorations so I would love to put one of these together. Maybe I could find a smaller planter for my small table ?.
Thank you so much! You could always use a smaller round planter. Just add the candle holder and leaves or the pumpkin. :)
So cute! And so easy to make, it seems!
Thank you! It is easy to make. Quick, too. Which is my favorite kind of DIY. :D
The Thanksgiving centerpiece is charming!
Thank you so much! :)
You're welcome ?
Your centerpiece is so elegant Michelle! Simple and easy on the wallet!
Thank you so much! I love a quick and easy frugal project. :)
I nominated you for the sunshine blogger award
Thank you so much!!
Michelle, this is such a lovely centerpiece and easy on the budget!
Thank you so much! I look for projects that don't cost a lot, especially around the holidays. :)
I love Thanksgiving and fall decor. And this is one of the loveliest things I have seen! ... By the way, I wanted to tell you about something I bought recently. It made me think of you because I could see you making it. It’s maybe 24” and looks like a barn door, painted white, with a small handle and small hinges. And on the front in black paint it says thankful and blessed.
Thank you so much! Aww I bet that's so pretty!!!! Thank you for thinking of me! :D
I still can't get over how incredible this centerpiece looks for only the equivalent of $6. Just awesome! I've pinned it and tweeted it :) I'd love to create this one for here. It's perfect. The colors are so warm and inviting, too.
Your Thanksgiving traditions sound really sweet. I hope you and your family have a wonderful time together this year. So sorry to hear about your Aunt. That Alzheimer's disease is just terrible. My brother in law passed away last November from Lewy Body Dimentia. It was unbelievably heartbreaking to watch his decline. My heartfelt sympathies are with y'all as you work with her through the process. ?
Hope you are well today my friend. Always fun to read what you write and see your creations! (Sorry I'm so behind on everything, sheesh!)
Thank you so much! It's very easy and quick to make, too. :D
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother in law. That's so sad! My aunt's sister has moved in with them, so that's helpful for her right now. It's hard to watch her sometimes. So heartbreaking. I hope you and your family have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving this year!
No worries on being behind. I completely understand! Renovations plus holiday season equals craziness! :D HUGS!!

Thank you! And thank you for the reminder! My brain is scattered right now. :D
