Farmhouse Style Sign – Dollar Tree DIY

Learn how to make a farmhouse style sign using only 4 materials all for under $5!

I love the farmhouse style with the crisp clean whites and dashes of color thrown in. However, some of those farmhouse style decor items can be ridiculously overpriced. I’m on a budget and trying very hard to save up as much money as possible. I don’t have extra cash laying around to spend on home decor.

Dollar Tree is my favorite store when it comes to crafting my own farmhouse style decor. Buying items from Dollar Tree and turning them into something even more creative is so much fun for me. Not only am I making my own home decor, but I’m saving so much money by doing so.

Let me show you how I made this cute little farmhouse style sign to hang on my wall.

Farmhouse Style Sign

What you need:

• silver metal tray
• wall decals
• jute string or rope
• spray paint

What you do:

Step 1

Gather all of your materials and spray paint your metal tray white. I tried doing this using a different kind of paint and the paint would not stick. The spray paint worked really well and only needed 2 coats.

Step 2

Cut the stickers out if you have words like I did and place them on the tray. Do not peel off the back of the stickers until you have an idea of where you want your stickers to go. These stickers are easy to peel off and move, but it might pull off the paint leaving it stuck to the back of the sticker.

Step 3

Peel off the back of the stickers and stick them in place on your tray.

Step 4

Using hot glue, attach the jute string or rope to the back of the tray at the top.

That’s it! Super easy and very inexpensive to make!
